Leading the Staking Experience — Nova Wallet’s Success in 2024

In this article, we are excited to show you all some of our latest achievements and the current staking landscape across Polkadot, Kusama, and Aleph Zero in comparison to other products in those ecosystems.
Nova Wallet has now achieved a new record in terms of tokens staked using our app — all of this has been achieved in just 260 days:
- Over 10 MILLION DOT staked (~$60,000,000)
- Over 260 Thousand KSM staked (~$6,700,000)
- Over 10.7 MILLION AZERO staked (~$5,800,000)
In December we released an article with a similar premise to this one, covering September — December 2023, and this article shows our achievements from September 2023 — May 2024.
Polkadot DOT Staking
In this section we will analyze four different sets of data, you can find out more about the methodology for acquiring this data in our previous article.
Namely, we will focus on the following:
- New DOT staked since September 2023 for ecosystem wallets
- Total DOT staked for ecosystem wallets
- New DOT staked since September 2023 for ecosystem wallets and LSD protocols
- Total DOT staked for ecosystem wallets and LSD protocols
We will analyze data from the 3 most popular wallets in the Polkadot ecosystem; Nova Wallet, Talisman, and SubWallet, as well as the 3 most popular LSD protocols; BiFrost, Acala, and Parallel Finance.
New DOT Staked — DOT Wallets
Let’s take a look at the amount of new DOT which has been staked with each wallet staking option from the start of September 2023 until the end of May 2024.
We can see that Nova Wallet remains in the lead in regards to the total number of new DOT which has been staked with ecosystem wallets since the start of September 2023.
Total DOT Staked — DOT Wallets
A relevant metric is also the total amount of DOT staked for each Polkadot wallet, so let’s take a look at the total amount of DOT staked with each wallet from the start of September 2023 until the end of May 2024.
We can clearly see from this data that Nova Wallet is the leading wallet in the Polkadot ecosystem not only in terms of new stake acquired since September 2023, but the overall total amount of DOT staked by users.
New DOT Staked — Wallets and LSDs
Now, let’s have a comparison against some other projects from the Polkadot ecosystem that are providing users with one of the most popular features in web3 — Liquid Staking. We are using data from Dune Analytics to get information about values for the amount of Liquid Staked DOT for Acala, Bifrost, and Parallel Finance.
We can see that Nova Wallet leads the pack in terms of newly staked DOT.
Total DOT Staked — Wallets and LSDs
When we look at total staked DOT for wallets and LSDs the situation is fairly similar.
We can see that Nova Wallet is the leader for staked DOT, not only in terms of ecosystem wallets but also in comparison to LSD protocols.
Kusama KSM Staking
In this section we will analyze two sets of data, you can find out more about the methodology for acquiring this data in our previous article.
We will focus on the following:
- New KSM staked since September 2023 for ecosystem wallets
- Total KSM staked for ecosystem wallets
We will analyze data from the 3 most popular wallets in the Kusama ecosystem: Nova Wallet, Talisman, and SubWallet.
New KSM Staked — Wallets
Let’s take a look at the amount of new KSM which has been staked with each wallet’s staking options from the start of September 2023 until the end of May 2024.
We can see that Nova Wallet has experienced significant growth in terms of the amount of KSM being staked since our v7.0 release.
Total KSM Staked — Wallets
Let’s also take a look at the total amount of KSM staked with the top 3 ecosystem wallets.
The total amount of KSM staked paints a similar picture with Nova Wallet comfortably in the lead.
Aleph Zero AZERO Staking
In this section we will analyze two sets of data, you can find out more about the methodology for acquiring this data in our previous article.
We will focus on the following:
- New AZERO staked since September 2023
- Total AZERO staked
We will analyze data from the 4 popular wallets in the Aleph Zero ecosystem: Nova Wallet, Talisman, SubWallet, and Nightly, as well as the AZERO.ID app.
New AZERO Staked
Like before, let’s first take a look at the new cumulative AZERO staked with each of these projects from the start of September 2023 until the end of May 2024.
We can see from this chart that Nova Wallet remains the leader in terms of new AZERO staked showing a promising organic upward trend.
Total AZERO Staked
We will look at the total amount of AZERO staked in our final chart.
Much like the other ecosystems, we can see that Nova Wallet is firmly in the lead in terms of staked AZERO.
The Data Speaks for Itself
When we released our previous article in December 2023, it was clear that Nova Wallet was showing promising organic growth in terms of newly acquired stake for each ecosystem, cementing the fact that the user adoption of Nova Wallet was outperforming other options in the various ecosystems since our v7.0.0 release.
Since then our growth has continued, and we have now reached new heights surpassing other ecosystem wallets and even Liquid Staking Protocols in terms of total stake, once again highlighting the significant adoption of Nova Wallet within these ecosystems.
